Kaiva Tech, LLC is seeking a Consultant I in the DC Metro Area (College Park Maryland)

Clearance: Ability to be cleared by the FDA

Workplace Type: There is telework, contractors come on site 2 days per week.

Summary Overview:

The Contractor shall assist OFAS staff in updating and maintaining web content for food ingredients and packaging by preparing documents and data for posting to the FDA web site, assist in data curations, redaction, and assuring that documents are Section 508 accessible.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Consultant I your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Coordinate with OFAS Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to determine which data and/or documents should be posted on the website and when they should be posted.
• Redact PDF documents to remove personal or confidential information as identified by OFAS SMEs.
• Process documents to be posted to the web site such that the PDFs are Section 508 compliant for web accessibility. These documents are expected to include submissions from industry such as, but not limited to, Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) Notices, Environmental Assessments, and New Plant Variety Consultations as well as FDA generated documents such as letters or memoranda related to any submissions to OFAS.
• Assist OFAS SMEs in substance and regulatory data curation so updates can be included in OFAS web inventories.
• Maintain records of progress/completion for each PDF document being posted on the web, and for any data curated (added/edited/deleted) for listing in any of the inventories.
• Quality Control (QC) the work of others as listed above.
• Train OFAS staff and other contractors with respect to tasks listed above.

Required Experience and Skills:

Performs and/or integrates moderately complex professional services in several operational, functional, or organizational areas. Designs and conducts studies, analyses, research; provides expert professional and consulting services; and prepares presentations and recommendations.

Desired Experience and Skills:

• Familiar with Section 508 compliance.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, SharePoint, EndNote, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, PowerPoint.
